Rain Sensor

The sensor is an Industrial-Grade Optical Rain Gauge that uses infrared light beams within a plastic lens to measure rainfall.

Location: Mount the rain sensor where it has a clear measurement of precipitation and is away from overhangs, eaves, or structures that could block rain from reaching the lens. Avoid mounting the sensor near sprinklers or other sources of artificial precipitation.

Installation: The Rain sensor can’t obstruct a clear view of the sky, and has to be leveled. Use provided hose clamps for installation to a mast and screws if it needs to be installed to a wall.
