The power cables and adaptors range provides the connections between your power source and the Air Pro 2 or Air Lite base station, with M8 weatherproof connectors, flexible cable lengths, and regional plug compatibility. Whether you are powering a station from a wall socket during commissioning, extending a solar panel cable to reach the optimal mounting position, or setting up a permanent mains-powered installation, these accessories complete the power chain.

The power accessories range includes cables and adaptors for every installation scenario:

SB9013 — 5 m USB Power Cable

The primary power cable for mains-powered and USB-powered installations. The 5 m M8 to USB-A cable connects the base station's M8 power input to any USB power source — wall adaptors, USB battery packs, laptop ports, or powered USB hubs. The 5-metre length provides flexibility to route power from a convenient outlet to the station's mounting position without the cable being taut or creating trip hazards.

The M8 connector provides a weatherproof, locking connection at the station end. The USB-A connector at the power source end is compatible with the SB9031 USB power adaptor or any standard USB power supply providing at least 5V 1A output.

SB9022 — 2 m Power Cable Extender

An M8 male-to-female extension cable that adds 2 metres between the solar panel (SB6103) and the base station. The solar panel ships with a 0.5 m cable — sufficient when the panel mounts directly adjacent to the station, but some installations require additional separation to position the panel for optimal solar exposure while the station remains at the measurement location.

The extender also serves as a spare power cable segment, providing a quick replacement if a cable is damaged during site operations.

SB9031 — 5V 1A USB Power Adaptor

A compact indoor power adaptor that converts mains electricity to 5V DC via a USB-A output. The adaptor includes interchangeable blade modules for EU, UK, and US outlet types, making it suitable for deployments across multiple regions without sourcing different adaptors.

The 100–240 VAC universal input means the adaptor works with any mains voltage worldwide. Pair with the SB9013 power cable for a complete mains-to-station power solution.

SB9032 — 12V 1A EU Power Adaptor

A 12V DC adaptor with EU plug for permanent indoor installations where 12V power is preferred. The 12V supply can be connected via the SB9013 cable, providing stable power for continuous monitoring station operation.

SB9033 — 12V 1A UK Power Adaptor

The same 12V DC adaptor with UK three-pin plug. Provides identical performance to the SB9032 for installations using UK electrical infrastructure.

Choosing the Right Power Setup

The power configuration depends on the installation type:

• Off-grid / outdoor — Solar panel (SB6103) connects directly to the base station. Add the SB9022 extender if the panel needs to be positioned further from the station
• Indoor / mains-powered — SB9031 adaptor + SB9013 cable provides 5V USB power from any wall outlet. Choose SB9032 or SB9033 for 12V installations
• Commissioning and testing — SB9031 adaptor provides convenient desk power during sensor configuration and pre-deployment testing
• Mixed deployments — stations can switch between solar and mains power by swapping the power source cable. The base station accepts either without configuration changes

Compatibility

The power cables and adaptors are designed for the Sensorbee cellular monitoring platforms:

• Air Pro 2 Cellular (SB8202 / SB8203) — all power cables and adaptors
• Air Lite Cellular (SB3331) — all power cables and adaptors
• Solar Panel (SB6103) — SB9022 extender for increased cable reach

The Air Lite Modbus (SB3352) is powered from the connected Modbus network or local power supply and does not use these power accessories.

Installation

Power cable installation requires no tools or electrical expertise:

1. Connect the M8 end of the power cable (SB9013) to the base station's power input — the connector locks with a quarter-turn
2. Connect the USB-A end to the power adaptor (SB9031, SB9032, or SB9033)
3. Plug the adaptor into a mains outlet

For solar panel installations with the extender:

1. Connect the SB9022 extender's male M8 connector to the solar panel's cable
2. Connect the extender's female M8 connector to the base station's power input
3. The station begins charging immediately

Route cables to avoid trip hazards, sharp edges, and areas where they may be crushed or snagged by site traffic. While the M8 connectors are weatherproof, the USB connectors and power adaptors are rated for indoor use (0 to +40°C) and should be protected from rain and moisture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a third-party USB power supply?

Yes — any USB power supply providing at least 5V 1A output through a USB-A port will power the base station via the SB9013 cable. However, Sensorbee recommends the SB9031 adaptor for guaranteed compatibility and safety certification.

Can I daisy-chain multiple extenders?

While the M8 connectors allow physical connection of multiple SB9022 extenders, excessively long cable runs may cause voltage drop. For runs exceeding 2.5 metres between the power source and station, consult the technical specifications for maximum recommended cable length.

Are the adaptors suitable for outdoor use?

The power adaptors (SB9031, SB9032, SB9033) are rated for indoor use at 0 to +40°C. For outdoor mains-powered installations, house the adaptor in a weatherproof enclosure. The M8 power cable itself is weatherproof and rated for outdoor use.

Which adaptor do I need?

For most installations, the SB9031 (5V USB with interchangeable blades) is the most versatile option. Choose SB9032 (EU) or SB9033 (UK) only if your installation specifically requires a 12V power supply.
